Nepal Telecom offers up to 50 percent discount on international calls

KATHMANDU, Oct 13, 2012

Nepal Telecom (NT) has offered up to 50 percent discount on international calls on the occasion of Dashain festival.

Issuing a statement, the state-owned operator said the offer is valid till mid-November. Under the offer, customers can make calls to Australia, China, Bangladesh and Hong Kong at Rs 7.75, Rs 3, Rs 4 per minute respectively through access code 1424.

The discount is also available for Kuwait and Bahrain. The existing tariff for these destinations was Rs 12 per minute for Kuwait, Bahrain and Australia, Rs 8 for Bangladesh and Rs 4 for China. Similarly, the operator has offered 50 percent discount on SMS service from October 15 to November 20. All the rates are exclusive of applicable taxes.

The discount offer is valid on GSM as well as CDMA service as well, according to the statement.

Likewise, post-paid users of NT´s GSM service can enjoy up to 10 percent discount on their total bill from mid-October to mid-November. “Fixed line users too can get additional 50 locals calls per month effective till mid-November,” the statement added.

The operator has also announced to provide free 100 MB data during this period for CDMA EVDO and packet data (PDSN). “The GSM pre-paid users will be enjoying 10 percent bonus amount on their total mobile bill till mid-November,” the statement quoted Guna Keshari Pradhan, spokesperson of NT.
