Five hydropower companies to float shares soon

Kathmandu, Sept 8, 2013

Five hydropower companies, including two registered with the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), are going to public shares shortly.

These companies are Sanima Hydropower, Ridi Hydropower Development Company, Barun Hydropower Company, Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower and Arun Valley Hydropower Company.

Sanima and Arun Valley Hydropower Companies are already listed with the SEBON while the rest have already applied for the same.

Sanima is about to issue primary shares worth Rs 21 crore and 10 lakh at the rate of Rs 100 per share, while Ridi Hydropower is issuing shares worth Rs 14 crore and 70 lakh.

Likewise, Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower is going to issue primary shares worth Rs 2 crore, 54 lakh and 16 thousand while Arun Valley Hydropower is going to issue right shares worth Rs. 35 crores.

Barun Hydropower will soon float primary shares worth Rs. 2 crore and 43 lakh to the residents of the project site.

Those who are keeping a close tab on the market believe that the current trend of the power developers to issue public shares is creating an environment conducive for investment in the country, which again is likely to boost the capital market.
